Biography in English

Mirjam Rietberg was born in Landsmeer, The Netherlands. At the age of 7 she started to play the harp. 
Since 1996 she studied at The Conservatory of Amsterdam with Erika Waardenburg and received in 2002 her "1e face diploma" (Bachelor), and in June 2004 her Masters diploma, specialised in Dutch music for the harp of the last century in both solo and chamber music settings. Mirjam has played with several orchestras and toured through Europe (Sweden, Hungary, Spain, France, England, Luxembourg) and Japan. Mirjam has participated in competitions, on the Dutch competition for young musical talent she received two second prices and on the International Harp competition in Hungry she received a third price. Mirjam has followed master classes with Jana Bouskova (Czech), Susanna Mildonian (Italy), Park Stickney (America), David Watkins (England), Marielle Nordman (France), Maria Graf (Germany). She is now mostly focused on chamber music with different ensembles. Since 1999 she forms the Bardac Harp Trio with flute and viola with which she performs often. They played several times in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Their repertoire is from Debussy until contemporary music; several Dutch composers have written works for this trio. Another example of an ensemble is the MirAnDa Trio with flute and soprano, they perform Japanese, Russian and Dutch music. In 2008 they recorded a cd, named Theatre, and in 2009 they went on tour to Moskou and Minsk. Besides chamber music Mirjam performs with solo recitals in Holland, Belgium and France with the concertharp, the Celtic harp and the chromatic harp.
